Executive Function

What exactly is executive function and why is it important?

Executive function is a set of mental skills that allow us to plan, focus, and do multiple tasks at once. It is a good skill to learn to be more productive, successful, and have more time.

Seven pillars of executive function

Many people have made different sets of pillars for executive function. But I have made my own and I think it really encapsulates everything you need to be more productive and focused.

The seven pillars are:

  1. Mindfulness
  2. Motivation (dopomine)
  3. Organization
  4. Time management
  5. Study skills
  6. Projects/goals/habbits
  7. Self evaluation

If you can get all of these down, you are on the road to success and happiness. All of these together creates a healthy lifestyle and healthy habits that will improve your life.

This was a very short blog post, but I just wanted to get sort of the intro for executive function down so that I can start to do other, more detailed blog posts about it. You can learn anything that has to do with mindfulness (including motivation) in my mindfulness category. Everything else will probably be in my lifestyle category (time management, study skills, projects/goals/habits, etc).

Hope this was helpful. Hugs,
