If you are a fellow woman/teen/tween/ really any human being who has periods OR could possibly get their period soon, then you will probably need a Period Emergency Kit. SOOOOOOO you COulD just go out and BUY one of these, BUT where’s the fun in that when you can just make your own out of products that YOU like?! Well……if you agree that making your own is MUCH more fun and PROBABLY cheeper (maybe) then you are in the right place my friend! Today, I’m going to be showing you how to make your own Personal Period Kit!!!!! Yayyy!!!
Okay, so to get started, you’ll need a bag to put all of the stuff in! Any kind of small bag works, but I would recommend a smallish toiletry or makeup bag like this

They come in TONS of different sizes, designs, colors, and brands, and are PERFECT for what we are doing.
Alright! Now that we have a PLACE to put our stuff, we can now start on the actual items!
Let’s start with the basics!
- Pad/pads (depending on wether or not you like tampons more or pads more)
- Tampon/Tampons (See above)
- Panty liners (for if you have a light flow, or you are spotting, or if you just have discharge that is UNCOMFORTABLY wet
)
What you’ll also probably need:
- Plastic ziplock bag (so that you have a place to put your stained underwear)
- Clean pair of underwear, you’ll need something to change into!
- Pain Medication or essential oils for period pain (I would recommend a Roman Chamomile, Ginger, and Fennel essential oil blend)
Optional:
- Baby Wipes, so you can get cleaned up easier (try and make sure to get Unscented)
- Period Underwear
Notes:
Try and make sure that anything that is going near your DOWN THERE area is UNSCENTED. This is very important because fragrance (not to get mixed up with NATURAL stuff like essential oils. Although you should still be careful with the essential oils or even plants that you put on/near your skin) can actually REALLY irritate your DOWN THERE area.
There are also lots of reusable period products like reusable pads, period underwear, period cups, period discs, ETC that you can use instead of disposable ones if you prefer!
And that’s it!! I hope this was helpful, and I will also make another blog post about a Puberty emergency kit (which isn’t just for puberty, but it will just have more things that any girl might need while she is out and about), so stay in-tuned for that! I’m excited to talk to you more in the next blog post!
Hugs, Gabriela Loren.
